Favourites for the World Cup

The mega event is about to begin within few weeks and the teams aim to dominate in the tournament. Ten teams will be competing for the title of world champions. Many predictions are done regarding the favorites by the experts. The favorites for the semi-finals include India, Australia, Pakistan & England.

Sunil Gawaskar also named these teams as the four semi-finalists.

“These four teams will be in the semi-finals. New Zealand could also spring a surprise because conditions in England are similar to theirs.”

Australia

The Australian team has been in the red hot form since their last few series. They have beaten India within India and then the clean sweep against Pakistan has made them a very dangerous side for the tournament.

England

The hosts are amongst the favorites for the World Cup title as the conditions will be supporting them. The England team is a very competitive side when it comes to great tournaments. England will be eyeing for the title as they have a very balanced squad capable of lifting the trophy.

India

Indian team also has to win any tournament due to their strong batting lineup and overall combination of both the bat and ball. The players are currently playing IPL which is an opportunity to remove the mistakes and get prepared for the World Cup.


Pakistan

The Pakistan team have always been the unpredictables in the tournaments because they have the capability to beat the best when its their day. Despite losing the series to Australia they will be looking for a comeback as they will be playing a series against England before the world cup. This series will help the Pakistan team to get adjusted with the conditions.
